Updates, changes, and more changes!

Hello dear friends!  I bet you have been wondering where I’ve been?  To answer, I’ve been hiding under a tree, pondering what improvements I could make to the website.  Did you miss me?  Great!  I’ve missed you too!  So what’s new on the website that required such a long hiatus?

First, I discovered that it was hard to print off a copy of the stories.  So for you folks who, like me, find it easier to read something off a printed page than off a scrolling electronic screen, at the end of the new stories, there is both a pdf and a word copy that you can print out.

Second, I changed the colors of a few pages.  I may change them back, though I will try not to do this too often, so I don’t confuse you.

Third, at the advice of a very trusted friend, who also happens to be a respected professional in the writing community, and a very strong Christian, I’ve decided to change both my logo and my signature image.  I can hear you gasping as you read this!  Take away the magic tree? Oh no!   Why would I ever do such a thing?  The answer is this (as G-rated as possible):  I discovered that the symbol of the 1/4 moon is... well, a known symbol of witchcraft. I could not take the moon out of the picture, so the picture as a whole has to go.

As Christians, I hope you realize, as I eventually did, that even by allowing something small that you think doesn’t really matter, you “keep the door ajar”.  Would you rather close the door to the devil... or would you rather leave it open just a smidgen so that at a moment when you least expect it, he barges into your life wrecking havoc on all he touches?  I would rather not leave the door ajar.  So, while I am sad to see the tree go, I am trusting God to find another picture for me to use.  (Note: Please bear with me while I locate ALL of the trees on the website - it may take a few days!)

As for the logo change (from Finding the Magic in Everyday Life)... ultimately, it’s not about magic.  It’s about returning childhood to children.  Returning to that place of wonder and joy.   Sparking the imagination inside.

It’s about returning childhood to children, one story at a time.

Love,

- K
